Human Rights
Dignity, Equality, and Justice for Every Resident
Christian Seale believes every person in El Paso County—regardless of ability, identity, or immigration status—deserves to live with safety, respect, and equal opportunity. His platform commits to defending human rights and protecting all communities from discrimination, exclusion, and abuse.
Disability Rights & Accessibility
Every resident deserves to navigate public spaces and workplaces with safety and dignity. Accessibility is not a luxury—it is a basic right.
Christian’s Proposal:
Standardize accessible sidewalk and ramp infrastructure countywide through a coordinated city-county initiative.
Lobby the state for local control over employment termination policy in order to allow El Paso to mandate that employers provide just cause for terminations, protecting disabled workers from discrimination and wrongful dismissal.
The Justification: Accessible infrastructure promotes independence, mobility, and public participation. Combined with stronger workplace protections, this ensures that disabled residents are not sidelined or mistreated by systems that should serve them.
LGBTQIA+ Rights & Protections
No one should face discrimination because of who they are or who they love. Christian is committed to ensuring LGBTQIA+ residents are protected under local law.
Christian’s Proposal:
Pass a countywide nondiscrimination ordinance protecting LGBTQIA+ people in housing, employment, and public accommodations.
Lobby the state for local control over employment termination policy in order for El Paso to enact just cause termination laws to prevent targeted firings of LGBTQIA+ workers.
The Justification: Legal protections for LGBTQIA+ communities are long overdue in El Paso County. These policies strengthen equality, reduce economic insecurity, and affirm the dignity of all residents.
