Immigration

The Future of Local Control and Safety For All

Christian Seale condemns the overreach of the federal government’s immigration policies and the violent, militarized raids that have been conducted in our communities and our neighborhoods. These actions destabilize families, spread fear, and disrupt the social fabric of El Paso County, Colorado Springs, and beyond. They also represent a fundamental failure to respect the rights of local residents and the autonomy of local government.

Christian calls on the federal government to place trust in the leadership and capacity of El Paso County and Colorado Springs—to believe that we can care for and protect our own communities without the imposition of federal tyranny. He firmly believes that local officials, who know and serve the people directly, are best equipped to uphold public safety and community wellbeing with compassion and fairness.

He maintains that governments derive their legitimacy from their residents—regardless of citizenship status—and have a moral and democratic duty to ensure access to basic services such as healthcare, housing, food, and water for all.

Christian will work to realign county immigration policy with the realities of community needs, advocating for an end to federal raids on community spaces and the restoration of dignity and humanity in how we treat immigrant and refugee populations.
